Discussion:
no forward or reverse

I have an old cat T30D ser # 5GB 3385 type LP forklift. It started a while back intermittently not driving (trans not engaging or slipping). the forks work great. not sure if it is a clutch pack or electrical. looks like wiring goes from forward/reverse lever to a solenoid on transmission. any why of checking if it is getting a shift signal or any other suggestions.

anytime i have had one of these not move they had no oil in the transmission because of those stupid fittings on the bottom
anyways, those wires to the solenoids can be checked when you request a direction input with the park brake released using a voltmeter.
check park brake switch and wiring?
