Big Joe PDI-24-T09:
No first or second speed only 3rd

I'm trying to figure out what the problem is with this Big Joe (serial#335516) that it only has 3rd speed. I think it's the resistor but I'm not sure. When you turn the handle for 1st speed the contacts engage and all for poles on the motor have 24.6 volts and the same goes for 2nd speed. At the top of the resistor I have 24.6 volts and it drops as I go down the resistor to the middle connection where the negative and the 3rd speed cable going to the 3rd speed contact connect. Going down the resistor after the negative cable it shows 0.4 to 0 volts. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

I couldn't find anything on their page to help. As for the contacts being the problem I don't think all three contacts could go bad at the same time. I think it's the resistor but don't know how to check the resistor to verify that it's bad. Does anyone know how I can check the resistor.

You can access all Big Joe diagrams at bigjoeforklift (dot) com. It sounds like the resistor or your contact tips are not making.

The Michelin Guide with its star rating system originated in France in 1900. The guide was created as a marketing tool to encourage more car travel and consequently increase the demand for tyres. It initially contained maps, tire repair instructions, and lists of restaurants, hotels, and mechanics.
