Linde (& Baker) H35D:
Mast Roller Replacement - H35T - Triple Stage

Hey guys,

So we had one of the rollers self destruct...it is the lower in side right one on a triple stage mast. Any tricks to getting this removed easily besides taking the entire attachment assembly off? Also...any sources for getting replacement rollers cheap? Dealer wants nearly $100 each! Also...this thing dug quite a groove in the mast...any recommendations to deal with that?

My appoligies, If roller is in the 2nd stage mast, rails have to be removed I believe. As for dug a grove, that is a judgement call

If you can find a bearing shop, you might match them up.You may pay more , but with manufacture parts, they are a better quality. If starter ever goes out, use only new linde. starters are expensive. But I installed a rebuilt starter on an H70 and another tech did the same on another H70 an ringears went out.You can get wrong bendix gear installed and wiring is weak.If your getting rid of truck, OK, but if you keep it. do it right. To big of expence to go cheak

I did tell you to take it out at first but trying to un screw bolt with cyl rod right beside it is a pain. carriage should lift right out. some rollers will have shims behind them. Top two rollers will have an allen bolt holding them in. takes a 6mm allen wrench to lossen. I prefer an allen wrench socket to loosen. that way way u can tap the socket while trying to loosen.Their not put on tight, I believe the design of the bolt creates a tighting. Putting them back in I use a little lock tight on say 1 thread, change all 6 rollers, even if they look good.Rollers usually break because operators are banging the carriage, hitting things to move them

take attachment off if it has one, remove auxzillary hoses and guard at top of lift cyl. remove brass stopper. it has an allen bolt holding it in. 10mm allen wrench, raise up carriage about 3/4 and use a good quality chain to hold it up.lower lift till lift chain is loose.remove allen bolt that bolts into back of carriage just below liftchain anchor. I hook a bungie cord onto chain so it does not roll back. carriage can be lifted up out of mast. Now when lifting carriage up brass stopper can be taken out and it is easy to unscrew allen bolt when it is above lift cyl
