Discussion:
Locked up motor , torque converter stuck in trans , what have I broken

I picked up a Clark GPS30 , the motor is locked up , so therefore I could not unbolt the torque converter from the flywheel, Well after lots of prying the converter is out , there is a gear on the end of it , that looks like it was driving a chain. I have seen a broken bearing cage , roller bearing , not ball bearing. and took the seal out too. What have I done , I was thinking it would be like a car , and the converter would just slide out , but no. Do I have to remove the trans to fix it ?

Yes, you will end up pulling the transaxle assy. All comes out the front. Mast off. Be aware, with mast off and trans/diff assembly out, the truck will tip back. The counterweight will need supported. I recommend getting the service manual for that machine. It breaks down the specific trans. Or at least get the parts breakdowns. That should be the HR600 Transmission.

Fact of the week
In 1898, author Morgan Robertson wrote a novel called 'Futility', which described an "unsinkable" ship named the Titan that sank after hitting an iceberg. Fourteen years later, the Titanic sank in a strikingly similar fashion.
