Luke,

You only have a about 5 wires connecting to the display. I would take the connector apart and look at each wire to make sure you do not have any loose strands shorting against another wire. Check your wire harness where it goes down through the steer column. Make sure nothing is frayed. Good Luck.

Thanks for your reply fish.
We swapped screen from another truck and that also blew. Expensive mistake.
We had the local hyster tech plug it in but he didn't really know what he was at fault, he was unsure if the screens were interchangeable and also if it was a fault with the vsm. Any help appreciated.

Luke,

You can swap the display, but you have to move the Vehicle System Manager at the same time as they are linked by serial number of the lift. Installing another dash will show a serial number mismatch. Better to have a qualified tech to repair.

You can try it for nothing but Im sure you'll need it resetting back to factory by a Hyster tech.

Fact of the week
In 1923, French tennis player René Lacoste was promised a crocodile leather suitcase by his captain if he won his next match. He lost the match but won the nickname "the crocodile" which he had sown onto his tennis attire. Ten years later he launched the first polo shirt and Lacoste, the first brand to feature a logo on its clothing.
