I'm trying to diagnose a CAT 2P6000 with an intermittent cranks no start. I do not have access to any CAT info or computers. No lights come on the dash and after attempting to start enough times it will start up. This is most pronounced first start of day and is worse when its cold ambient temps. I'm a 20 year GM guy but only a 4 month forklift guy for a Yale dealer. This is a GCT , 4 cylinder engine. Any help would be appreciated.

Is this a LPG or Gasoline engine....if lpg i would check and drain the vaporizor of tar oil that can build up over time causing a slow cold start...how many hrs on the truck???
Check the injector. When no start occurs, tap the injector or warm it up.
i have seen this be the issue before on cold mornings.
If you do not have any codes you might check the valve adjustments. The valve do get tight over time causing hard cold starts and miss-fires.
Check for hour meter display..No Code?? We check spark plug and coils, also check fro Proper Fuel pressure to Throttle box...
