this post was about a post that seemed to have disappeared , conversation brought us round to our truck, but as you said Landoll have the Bendi truck that's was built for Landol in India by Godrej and the different variations will mainly be in the mast and these would come from Liftec Elecar so what part of this truck did you design.
Also a articulated truck mainly work in side the warehouse and not out side in 50c heat as for trolling these forums telling every one about our great idea I only really comment to comments made about our truck and plans, or if I have something I think others might find of interest, Like I said there were plenty of People in Wales happy when we finally made Linde come clean about their plans for the heavy truck division. Because it gave them clarity about their future. So I take the troll comment was about Hyster again I can't help it if Hyster is going to be in Trouble in a couple of years because of there own miss management
Well....."i can tell you im just not going to , do your own home work...." How is that for an answer? Those are your own words.
But, since you are NOT the industry expert you claim to be, and cannot figure it out for yourself, the company is Landoll, we build the Bendi and Drexel trucks. We have 24 models and not a single one is a standard counterbalance truck. This is why I have actual experience, and how I know that ground breaking ideas are not going to make the impact you think your truck will. In April (when you claim your lift will be tested) I will complete my 20th year in this industry. Unlike you, there are people on this very post who have actually put their hands on our equipment, all of which I have had something to do with.
So don't give me your "expert" knowledge on this industry, you don't have it. Trying to come up with a new idea is great, and good for you for trying. But you come into these forums like you are something special when you have never produced anything, telling all the rest of us how your are a giant threat to us. If you put the effort into your truck that you put into trolling these forums, you might actually have something by now.
Chrisk OK why don't you answer the question WHAT HAVE YOU EVER DESIGNED OR DONE IN THIS INDUSTRY.
You come on here slagging off our project and our plans so come tell how good are you because all i can see is some one who says a lot and from what i can see has done nothing.
Until you can say what you have done don't knock what others are doing
OK ChrisK you claim to be a designer , but I bet you are just some frustrated sales guy who dreamt of setting up his own company but didn't have the bottle to go it alone so your stuck in your job.
You can appear to look good to yourself by criticizing our plans and our ideas things you can only dream about. any real designer or person who has set up on the own knows its not easy and to get a product to market is hard
So please carry on because what i do is when I hit a hard patch is I come back and read these posts and it gives me the motivation you need to succeed
First smart phone was produced by IBM in 1992, the Simon Personal Communicator. It was created more than 15 years before the first I-Phone
NetMarket or Internet Shopping Network were both launched a year before Amazon.
The first practical electric automobile was invented in 1859. Electric cars started to come back in 1959 with a collaboration between AMC and Sonotone. In the 1990s several manufacturers were beginning to mass produce EVs. All of this done LONG before Tesla started.
Do you even comprehend what you are being told? You said ".....they were there first......" Now you say they weren't first, but improved on what somebody else started.
It is time you put up or shut up. Either produce, market and sell this wonder truck, or stop talking about it. It's amazing you have never produced, sold or supported a single product and yet can tall everyone you are an expert and are going to drop something on the market that will send everyone scrambling to catch up. Everybody gets this, YOU are the only one who believes in your BS.
the Apple iPhone was the first real smart Phone, AirBNB were the first to disrupt the hotel industry, Amazon have been the first in many areas of on line shopping.
well ChrisK seeing you are such an expert and great designer what product or service have you designed that's changed a industry
Not a single company you named was first in their industry.
The big truck designers have in blinkered out look on truck design, that's why they have not made any significant changes in the last 50 years in counter balanced forklifts.
Now to say there designers will look at our design and improve it they might well try, but for any company we will be improving as well and as we are a least 10 years in front of the OEM's we will still be in front.
Why do you think companies like Amazon, Apple, Tesla, AirBnB all do so well. they were there first and improved on what they started with
Swoop is absolutely correct. IF this "wonder truck" ever makes it to the light of day it won't make the huge splash that exalt has been claiming it will. The fact that you want to start by limiting it to rentals in the UAE alone will prevent that. The Chinese aren't going to run out and duplicate it right away, they only put the tape measure to things that have been around for a while.
The modular concept is not a new idea by any means and it has been tried before. If it was a game changer, you would see it being used by the manufacturers who have been producing trucks for quite some time.
In the end, IF this truck is ever produced and is as fascinating as you say, the big OEMs won't have to copy your (or whoever's) design, they will simply incorporate the ideas using their own personnel and experience, and then beat you right out of the market.
We have been building trucks now for over 25 years. They are a new concept to the traditional warehouse truck, and we have sold several thousands of them. To this day, no big OEM has tried to duplicate them. You will learn the same.
ChrisK seems to think I troll Hyster, in fact I don't what I see is a company that's in trouble and will soon face a perfect storm situation. There are three main reasons for this One Nijmegen, Nijmegen manufactures all Hyster big trucks and will not be Viable with in three to four years. The reason for this is in North America which is an important market for Nijmegen products the Toyota Hoist partnership will hit them hard and take away quite a lot of sales. Then there is Asia an developing market for Nijmegen Sany are doing very well in this market and will get stronger. Two Nuvera the hydrogen fuel cell company Hyster own, in 2018 Nuvera made an EBITDA loss of $ 35.2 million dollars this could be added to prefers losses of around the same if not more so you could be right in saying Nuvera so far has lost around $70 million, with the growth of ballard and plug power Nuvera will struggle to find customers for their hydrogen fuel cells especially with new technologies coming on line soon. Then thirdly the purchase of Maximal, now some might say Maximal was a good buy but at $100 million and around $10 million investment needed Maximal was a terrible purchase if they had paid around $30 million for maximal then it might have been a good buy but not at $110 million total investment.
Now when you add all these points together then you can see why I believe Hyster will be in trouble , For all the people who are saying he doesn't like Hyster you probably said I didn't like Linde heavy trucks when I said that they would close it and for Linde to say it was not closing it only to say it was a couple of months latter
Hi Swoop223
I agree with your post and yes it will be and has been challenging to say the least, this is why we have chosen to work in the UAE, Even with the support we have gotten there, sometime its like we are against a whole industry. Because it would be stopped any were else in the world
On the truck testing side the truck has been built before and it passed all test with flying coulure's so will pass again, the fuel side will also pass as it has been done before. In a way you could say well there's nothing new about this truck and then yes I would have to agree as all parts have been proven and passed before. What is new is they way we put it all together and how we use the technology.
What we have managed to do is use this technology to improve what basically is a design that has been around for 50 years , and in doing so we have come up with a fully modular truck that will allow for exchange units to cut manufacturing time and down time. While being 100% zero emission with out having to have battery charging or fuel cell
i would not say i was a great designer who has come up with this fantastic design, The basic design for our truck was done by three great UK designers called Sydney Shaw Ronnie Watson and Harold Willson or even i have come up with the way of making it 100% Zero emission. This is down to the experts i work with. What i can say is i come up with the truck shape and all the people who have had it fully explained to them have all agreed it will be an industry changing technology
Tugger Just a point on the Hyster fuel cell big truck. I'm working with an Expert in fuel cell technology who has been working in this type of industry for more than thirty years. Its his opinion from past experience that the fuel cell in such a big truck would suffer from vibration and would ultimately damage the fuel cell core with in twelve months. This would require the core to be re built.
Now yes fuel cells work is large equipment like buses but these run on smooth roads mostly and have a full suspension system on them not like a forklift that is working in an outside environment as large as 75,000kg
There we do with the name calling again, please...
The only problem i see with his game plan is ONLY renting them.
The only way he and his team is going to have this 'wonder machine' make any impact in the world is to SELL the unit. Machine rentals will not generate enough revenue to support taking over the material handling industry with this 'wonder machine'. And another thought, about the BIG material handling manufacturers, do you think they will actually 'just let this happen'??? I'm sure their influence in this industry will play a big part on how this plays out. EVERY concept that would have been a major competative concept against the BIG companies have always been bought out and squashed in the past, i do not see that changing any time soon. Why else do you think he has such a foul attitude towards them if its not for that reason. ;o)
Exhalt can say what he wants but i'm certain it's not going to happen the way he thinks it will :oD It hasn't happend yet now has it, this will string out for years to come i'm willing to bet. And knowing the regulatory orginazations in the world i'm pretty sure they will run his 'wonder machine' through the ringer and it will not be built the way they origionally planned. This thing will have to pass stringent tests and epa and osha standards and design changes will be made, i'm certain of that ;o)
Will their alleged concept have an impact on the industry? probably but i doubt it will go as he portrays it will.
But i am curious to see this thing whenever it does hit the scene, IF it does. There's alot of things that have to happen before his dream machine will ever be allowed out into the rest of the world. :oD
Its like this folks, if Exhaust was in California skydiving with his emissions output he would be considered air pollution and would not be able to pass any emission standards now or in the future.
