Serial # H177B39323A Mazda powerplant. Unit had fried starter and replaced. Unit is firing but will not start (fried starter). Can turn on IGN switch and fuel can be heard entering throttle/mixer for appr. 1.5 sec but will not hit, Can use carb cleaner shot and will start and run fine as long as shots are being delivered. Seems unit would hit on the propane delivered on key on cycle. Any suggestions will be appreciated as this and one more will make 2 with this fuel set up i have worked on.

How do you know that no gas is getting through the vaporiser?? You have bottkebpressure at one side and around psi at the engine side if you take the outlet pipe off and crank the engine you will not get gas through as it relies on vacume pressure to allow gas through the vaporiser. Take thee outlet pipe off you have no vacume so no gas
Need some help with my Hyster mazda power. I can't seem to get any fuel thru my vaporizer. Fuel to vaporizer is good but nothing comes thru the line. Any help will be appreciated.
Anytime I see a bunch of 'honey' in the regulator, I also would want to check to see if the unit had an LPG coolant thermostat, and if it worked correctly and if not, I would want to try and sell the customer on buying one. I would also be checking to see what temp the engine was running at. you get a lot more honey from a machine that when running stays at a 180F. reading at the regulator, than on a machine where the regulator stays about 150F. and if the radiator cooling tubes are clogged and the engine runs at 210F. you will get even more.
yep RCA
gunk in the regulators seems to be a common problem related to this.
as part of the pm on a truck it is recommended to drain the regulator to keep this from happening.
LP gas tends to have certain additives that cause this in today's LP gas market, most of the time just simply changing the LP supplier solves this problem but that is a whole different discussion that has already been brought up many times here in other posts.
glad you got it worked out
Received new regulator and installed. Started unit and adjusted mix. Runs like a champ. FSAG, pulled old regulator apart and found an endless supply of jelly form inside. I am waiting for someone to claim mineral rights on this one! I dont think the reg had ever been drained. TY swoop!
TY swoop223. I am having a new regulator making a trek to my addy right now.
ok , yes my first thought was regulator too but figured I'd ask the question about codes first. And this is true, no fuel should be going to the mixer till the engine is starting.
I suppose you could pull the fuel line off the mixer and then turn the key on to see how much is actually coming through and if it continues to when you try to start the engine. This would verify the flooding condition.
Only reason i say to do this is because these regulators are kind of expensive.
Found a service gram hyster had put out in 2009 about new diaphragm kits, seal kits and complete regulators for these aisan units. seal kit# 1479530, diaphragm kit # 1479531 and regulator # 1594144.
good luck
Yes. I am thinking the regulator should not allow any fuel unless a vaccum is pulled. It has Aisan regulator. I am going to replace the regulator as it is original. Unit will start on carb cleaner but will not continue to run on LPG. Can pull hose off carb and start on spray and while running can hook line back up on LPG and unit will die. Think that diaphram is gone in regulator. The initial burst of LPG when ignition switch is turned on is possibly bad diaphram and is flooding system while attempting to start.
I would start with the regulator. I may be flooding the mixer. When you use carb cleaner is the gas disconnected from the mixer?
This lift only has small hour meter read out. I dont think it will show code due to the age of unit. It is possibly early 2000 model.
I don't suppose you noticed any error codes on display did you?
