it looks like its all part of NMHG's master plan to only have duel dealers, but how will they decide what brand to sell a customer. my thinking is that some day, NMHG will only make one brand and call it a "oh hay'll "

From what I have heard some Eastern employees are already telling customers that they will be handling Hyster as well as Yale. I could see NITCO coming down to the 6 lower counties of New York state which Modern currently covers as they already come down to Westchester county, NY which abuts the Modern counties.
Joe McEwen (the founder of Modern) must be rollling over in his grave if all of this occurs! At one time Modern was one of Hyster's best and biggest dealers! NACCO has really destroyed Hyster's name and lost so much of the share Hyster used to have. At one time Hyster was second best in terms of market share to Clark!

Modern fires NACCO...as of 10/1 Modern will sell Hyundai, Terex Big Joe and NACCO will need another dealer or give to Eastern. Heard NITCO was asked to come to NJ.

Unless Nacco changed dealer agreements, cant be Hyster since there is a different dealer in Maryland and dual dealers cant cross 2 dealer territories.

I have heard from a good source that Eastern will become the Hyster dealer, taking over Moderns territory sometime in the fall possible October 1st. That will give Eastern the Yale line in Eastern PA, Delaware and Maryland and Hyster in those same markets as well as all of NJ and the Southern 6 counties of NY. Modern will supposedly be picking up another lift truck line possibly Doosan. We will have to wait and see if this is true.

Eventually there will be one dealer in Eastern Pa. and So. Jersey. Modern is growing other lines of industrial equipment and the current management are not fork truck people. Most of the experienced people were pushed out. However Eastern is the Walmart of dealers in NJ and Baltimore but they get share.
