Hi , you can set the positive cable of battery directly only on the starter and check starter wil rotate without starter relay.
If you bypass the wiring & jumper right to the starter solenoid start terminal what happens? I see this symptom all the time with Toyotas. The solenoid doesn't get enough power thru the wiring harness to activate the solenoid properly. Wiring in a relay to give the solenoid direct battery voltage solves the problem
As far as the alternator- it does sound like it's shorted
Cables resistance is good. Battery only drops to about 11.2V during attempted start. The alternator fuse that keeps blowing makes me lean towards that. The alternator, pump, and engine turn freely. Thanks for the help.
Yes it is possible that either your alternator bearing is seized up or the water pump or idler/tensioner bearing is seized up and causing your issue, but I am betting that its in your cables as I stated earlier......KEEP US POSTED as to what you find
Yes , you can disconnect the alternator from the battery , it is possible it is stuck and they take 70-90 ah from starting and then you have a problem with starting.
I have fix this problem by a linde H80 with perkins engine, same problem , new starter and battery but also clicking , it have a alternator fault
regards
I would first look at your power cable from the battery to the starter for corrosion in the cable and also check your ground cables.....do a voltage drop test to see where your resistance is.....what does the battery voltage drop to while cranking? Sounds like corrosion in the cables or a poor ground cable from the block to the battery
