Hyster forklift help

While I was replacing the rear main seal on our Ford 192 on propane, I discovered that the rear main journal on the crankshaft was badly damaged. I sent it to the machine shop only to find it was to badly damaged. They machined it to 40 thou and it still needed more. I am told that the cranks are key way made for Hyster by Ford and are obsolete. I tried to have it welded and ground, but they wanted a small fortune with no gaurantee. I have found a used Ford 172 diesel motor but I am unsure if the crank is the same for both gas and diesel??? I know that the 192 gas and 172 gas have the same crank. The same goes for the diesel. Both gas and diesel motors have the same stroke.
My other option is to replace the entire motor with a newer version. Any ideas on what would bolt up to the existing transmission???Thank you in advance.

Your Hyster dealer should be able to provide information regarding engine adaptor plates and GM4.181 engines which were fitted on later H30-60H machines and whether compatible with your model.
