Our company lift truck has a back up alarm wired thew a relay which activates in reverse. The problem I'm having is that I'm getting terrible feedback when the accelerator is pressed. Our done some reading on zener diodes and or suppression blocks. Am i On the right track? Any help would be appreciated.

Lol sorry bout the miss type. Doing this from phone at work and using "swipe"
Ok so ive got a 50 volt 2uf cap installed. The alarm actually sounds better. But It still gets some static while the accelerator is pressed and cuts off completely when fully pressed. In thinking now that phone of the system diodes may be damaged or missing. The lift is rather old.

installing a simple capacitor across the backalarm terminals or even a diode will eliminate this problem. So yes you are on the right track.
