First post here. I know pretty much next to nothing when it comes to forklift troubleshooting, so I thought I would ask for some help. I have a Yale Model ERC080 Electric Forklift. When I connect the battery, the hydraulic pump (I think) engages, and revs? up like an engine with your foot on the gas. This happens whether the key is turned on or off. The only way to shut it off is to dis-engage the battery. My thought is that the switch for the pump is faulty, and it is sticking, but I would have no idea where to even look for this. Does this make sense? Any suggestions on how to fix this myself?

you either have welded pump contactor tips
OR
if the hydraulics are premium and have ev100 controls the 1Rec is not turning off, probably a bad rec
if it does it with key on or off i'm guessing it has contactor hydraulics and the tips are welded
happy hunting ;o)
Model Number- ERC080HDN368F084
Serial Number- A839D01826T
36 Volt
Serial number & complete model number would be very helpful - the full model number can provide waht type of controller is installed in the machine. The ERC080 base model has been used for decades with lots of design changes.
