I need it if you have it.
I know this thread is rather old! But you do need to separate the mast & operators platform from the tractor. I have all the info at hand if you still need it.
anyone still need this info?
I just called the Raymond dealer and confirmed to me that the mast (which is 14ft tall) hast to be separated from the battery compartment. I would like to know the steps to be followed for the dismantling.
Nope it was the 537. We kept a couple of the wood cradles that they were shipped in just for this type of thing.
I would recommend contacting your local Raymond dealer. We actually had several of our competitors ask us to come move these type of units for them
are you talking about a swing reach (which is over 12 long x 5ft wide) or the reach lift (about 6ft long x 42" wide)?
I used to work for a Raymond dealer and that is how they were shipped from the factory and also how we would deliver or move them.
Thanks for your response. The solution you are suggesting applies to standup reach lift (you just lay down the lift on it side on pallet without dismantling the mast) However, this is a huge swing reach lift with 15ft mast, 5ft wide and 12.5ft long (see picture on ebay, item # 280722918944/ 1994-Raymond-Swing-Reach-Fork-Lift-Truck-Model-537). I am sure that the lift has to be dismantled before crating (otherwise you will have a pallet 15ft long x 12ft wide and over 13000 lbs), also it was received from Raymond dismantled before was put in service.
generally, to move these tall narrow aisle trucks, you don't so much remove the mast as you cover the hydraulic tank's breather/fill cap with a solid plate and then you use another 2 forklifts [or overhead crane and forklift] to lay down the forklift and mount it to a wooden cradle that will keep the mast and carriage form shifting in transit.
