Discussion:
How do you adjust LPG mixture to carb. regulator is freezing up

I have replaced the regulator and I have noticed after it has ran 10 to 15 min the regulator seems to ice over and start running like crap. Is there an adjustment? I know the radiaror fluid is supposed to keep the regulator from freezing over?

usually when they run hot like if the thermostat isn't opening it will boil over, spewing out of the radiator. i'm sure you've seen a car do that right? same thing here.
do you have to add coolant/water to the radiator alot?

bubbling?
that doesn't sound good, is it consistent bubbles coming out?
do you see any almond colored residue in the oil cap and pull the dipstick and does the oil look clear (if new) or normal dark color (if it has been a while since an oil change)? If it has a milky almond color?
If milky or almond colored you probably have a blown head gasket between the cooling jacket and cylinder making it push compression into the cooling system causing those bubbles. and some may be getting into the engine oil.
I just replaced a head gasket on a lift doing that same thing.
it had a mazda FE series engine in it. (yours may be the same engine).

The water doesn't seem to be swirling at temp it just starts bubbling out the radiator.

ok, thanks for that info
this unit is older and has the Impco system on it.
so what we suggested earlier, the coolant is probably low and not circulating through the vaporizer/regulator. This will cause it to freeze up and run badly.
I would still check the circulation though and make sure all the bypass hoses running to and from the vaporizer are flowing properly and the coolant level is full in the radiator. Also if it is full make sure it is circulating by watching the coolant in the radiator while it's running and hot, it should be swirling or moving around inside the filler neck area. If you don't see the coolant moving then the water pump may be bad.

not sure if you have resolved this or not but i wanted to return and ask about,
what is the full model number of this lift?
and possibly the serial number?
need this to get an idea of what LPG system is on it and the engine.

yes it may have air in it but also check the bypass circuit through the intake manifold and the vaporizer, make sure all those hoses are clear and flowing good. I've seen engines do this if those lines are clogged. Drain the coolant, blow through the lines and even through the intake where they enter and exit. Make sure all of it is clear.

After you replaced the regulator it is possible that you have traped air in the engine block.Try to let some water out of the regulator hoses as it is running some times you will here air come out as you pull on the hoses don't get burned if the water is hot. If that does not work it is possible that you have a blockage in one of the fittings the water must flow in and out of the regulator through the engine block hope this helps.
