CUMMINS FOR SURE, BUT STAY AWAY FROM ALL THE "WHISTLES & BELLS" HYDRAULIC FINGERTIP CONTROLLERS- APPARENTLY THEY NEED CONSTANT CALIBRATION WHICH YOU CAN'T DO UNLESS YOU CAN GET INTO THE ON BOARD DIAGNOSTICS. ALSO THE DRIVERS SAY THAT THERE IS NO "FEEL" TO THE CONTROLS. DURAMACH TRANS- DO YOU REALLY WANT A COMPUTER CONTROLLING THIS OR BRAKES ? ALSO IF THERE IS A FAULT THE TRUCK APPARENTLY SHUTS DOWN ON THE SPOT. I'VE TALKED TO ACTUAL HYSTER SERVICE MECHS, & THEY SAY KEEP IT SIMPLE. ALL THIS STUFF IS NICE WHEN IT WORKS. IT'S A FORK TRUCK , NOT A SUV.
the main problem is the plus2 transmission with power up hydraulics. you need to drive them in a certain way to keep control. not easy
It has been about 6 months without any other comments on this discussion. It seems as though these trucks are not holding up very well. NACCO is experiencing major problems with this series of trucks.
Thanks Kevin; your feedback has been very useful to us; Dave.
most of the trucks we have sold minilever hyd controls which are very reliable. maybe only 1 or 2 failures out of 150 trucks. keyless start and prestart check list are all through the dash display which is fine. some cab-less trucks have had water ingress problems in the dash. haven,t heard of any problems with impact alarms
Thanks Kevin; We are interested in the thumb switch hyd. controls, impact alarm, keypad entry and, preop check list. Are these opitions dependable? Dave.
controls are good. we had a few faults on the hydraulics but it was just down to bad routeing of the seat wiring. if you get the correct spec for the job you are doing you should be very happy with the truck. i know the yale is basiclly the same truck but the hyster is a better specification for your money. one thing steer clear of the joystick controls somedays they refuse to work and the next they are fine.
Thanks for the responce; how are the controls holding up?
go with the cummins mate. yanmars are under powered
