Governor question

Our GCX50 has a Perkins 4 cylinder propane power. Has anyone had a problem of when you accelerate it bogs down to a crawl. Have replaced regulator and vaporizer. Looks like the governor is not working properly. Vacuum advance on dist. is working. Anyone have experience with this?

It is a velocity type. The side cover looks like is riveted on. Is that how you get it off to check spring drill it out? I found out that this is a obsolete part and no where to be found. Any ideas on what else will work?

I'm not sure what governor you have but if is velocity type mounted under the carb it will do that if the spring in it broke. Take the side cover of the governor off and take a look.

Fact of the week
In March 2002, identical twins in Finland died on the same day in similar accidents within hours of each other. A 70-year-old man was killed by a truck while cycling; hours later, his twin brother was killed by a truck on the same road, about a mile away, before the family had been informed of the first accident.
