Check the microswitches on top/side of the contactors are set correctly, they should make before the main direction contactor closes, or check for high resistance on the microswitches.
If it still does it, check the earth leakage / over current settings on the main contactor.
Hi Leon

Hello Everyone, is sad to see another english manufacturing plant close down. When i first started working on forklifts i was working on Lansing Bagnalls Poes 4.1, Toer 4.2, FRER 5,7,9 etc. I remember on some of the older stuff there was an aluminum plaque with lansing bagnall and the pegasus logo. I have been looking for a few years now, nut haven't been able to locate one. Maybe one of you's can help. i am willing to buy or trade for forklift info etc. Please contact me if you were there is any.
Hello Richard. Lovely to hear from you, thank you for the contact. Yes, retired now, but still working locally and loving it. All our old mates are in good health, and we all keep in touch. I hope all is well in Singapore. Please keep in touch. (Email address is gb1250 "AT" aol.co.uk). Cheers and thanks again. G.
Hi Graham. Nice to see you in this forum. Yes last heard you were retired. Sad to see closing of Basingstoke plant too. Hope all our friends - Neil are all well. This is your good friend from Singapore.
I can't spell ashavinburg either. I didn't know they were laying off there as well!
Count yourself lucky that you are retired, these are tough times
Agreed. A very sad time, especially for the 350 losing their jobs. I have been informed that Marketing (Sales; Service/Tech Support; and Spare Parts) will remain for the foreseeable future.
Had many happy years with Linde at Abingdon, then at Basingstoke after the '88 takeover. Made many good friends in UK and abroad. Retired in '04 but still feel a loyalty to my old team and good friends.
I also understand that many are being laid off in A'burg, but they will be paid for up to 2 years.
Sad day!
I started as a service engineer for Lansing Bagnall in 1974 working out of the E London depot in Poplar. There was about eight of us covering south east London. We used to meet every morning in a cafe in Deptford! What a great crowd of blokes. I've got so many good memories.... then later on I worked out of Edenbridge. I then became a service instructor in 1979 at the Isleworth depot. From 1984 I spent a few years as the FTR rental controller at the Barking depot. I left Lansing Linde in 1989.
I have such fond memories of my times with Lansing Bagnall/Linde and all the great people I met along the way. My heart goes out to all those in Basingstoke who have lost their jobs.
All the best
Chris Parish
