Discussion:
Forward / reverse problem

Hi All,

Cat V50D diesel. Early nineties model - assumed. Peugeot XD3P engine.

Occasionally when having changed direction from forwards to reverse or vice-versa, when setting off from stationary the transmission 'bites' too low down the rev range making it hard work for the engine. Usually it revs higher as I suppose as it should.

I searched and found that the solenoids can be problematic but I don't know where they are. Could they be the cause ? What might I need to do ? or could it be something else ?

As usual, all help appreciated.

I've had a look on the transmission and axle but I can't find anything in pairs that have cables leading to them. There's no pics on the net of the transmission or parts. I've sorted a battery charging problem and the clutch 'bite' is a tad better with a good battery that is being charged !!
Is the hydraulic circuit for the lift and tilt rams etc different to the circuit for the torque converter ?

Thanks in advance.
