Discussion:
Foklift center of gravity and wheel load

Hi

I would like to know how to calculate forklift center of gravity
considering three wheeled forklift with two wheels at the front. will the center of gravity be (2*h)/3 from the rear wheel?
based on this how would we calculate the wheel load on each wheel when forklift is laden and unladen

Help would be appreciated

Thank you

Your best bet is to contact the manufacturer of the forklift to get this information. Sometimes, not often, some companies will publish this info on their spec sheets.

Any attempt to calculate this info without knowing the details specifics of the forklift would only be a guess.

Of course, one could drive the unit onto a level floor scale & weigh each axle laden & unladen.
