Discussion:
Fault code -43

I have a Clark ECG30 and whenever the accelerator is pressed it will not move, but will show a fault code of -43. I changed out the accelerator controller under the pedal a week ago, it began to run normal. Now it has been brought back to me with the same code. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Ok thank you Tom_P!! I have been away from work for a couple weeks so haven't had a chance to look into this yet but that is very helpful information. I will try to dig into it this week and see what i find.

Looking around the control panel you will notice, small Yellow and Green wires which connect to the Z or Y plug follow those wires to a metal L shaped or Z shaped bar. That is your Current sensor shunt. Make sure the fasteners holding the bar are tight and wiring is ok.
If this is not helpful try downloading GE EVT5 or 100 controller manual, most older GE controller manuals are available free on the web.
And if that does not work contact me on my profile.

"Fault 43 indicates open or damaged wiring to current sensor. Also check the plugs on control card are not loose. Often the cause of intermittent faults. "

This is the only machine i have with no maintenance manual included, Do you have a decent idea of where the current sensor is located? I'm having trouble finding the manual online.

ok thank you, i did check the wires going to the control card but i will check them again. As far as the battery, I just bought a new battery for it a year ago, so i'm hoping that's not the case but definitely good advice thank you. This last time it quit on me, they just pulled it off the charger and went maybe 10 feet and it quit on them with a full battery. I will start tracing wiring and seeing if i can find something. Thank you !

Something else for you, I had this code last week on a fc crown, it was bad cells in the battery, fault would occur when battery was below 60% on guage.

Fact of the week
Bluetooth is named after the 10th-century Viking king, Harald Bluetooth, who united warring tribes in Denmark and Norway. In 1997, Jim Kardach from Intel gave the name to the technology because of its ability to unite different communication protocols, just as Harald united various tribes.
