This truck will just start (sometimes) then the line contactor drops out and fault code 222 appears,(drive motor short) The service manual troubleshooting procedure requires a service password be entered in the display panel to start the diagnostics. Has anyone.......advice on resolving 222.

Thanks is r never put grease or lube..
If the unit will not complete self test, and the Access 2 fault light is not on, but the fault light on Access 3 appears to be flashing "222" over and over, the Access 3 is bad.
sorry armando but there is no lube for motor brushes.
you can clean up with contact or motor cleaner to remove brush carbon buildup or dirt making brushes stick but that is about all you can do.
putting lube on brushes is the worst thing you could ever do.
when you remove them check for wear, if worn replace them.
this is the only thing to fix stuck brushes.
clean or replace or both.
Thanks is correct is the brushes stuck
Just add some lube to make lose and start up
Code 222 Means M2 Lift Pump Motor Open Circuit. most of the time its the Brushes worn out or it is stuck inside the holder. other than that check for loose connections within the circuit, contactor tips, and fuse.
Hope this is helpful

Thanks for your help (though this appreciation is ironic because nobody ever answered me my emails and comments).I document the problem related to error code 222 (Crown RR5000 series) to help someone diagnose the fault because I do not want to be selfish with the knowledge I acquired these days.I commented that fails M2 detect when the engine turned, but not expelled fluid. We initially that was broken shaft or the pump is worn inside but the failure was that the spline shaft of the pump (which is coupled to the motor) was totally worn, moisture apparently originated or other factor that the shaft oxide and eventually wear severely. We replace the pump with a new one and problem solved. Additional topic that is important to state that gave us clues to the origin of the problem was when I measured the current feeding the motor M2 is rising much for normal parameters.
the 24volt RR5000 is notorious for the brushes sticking in the holders. make sure each brush is free to move. any that are tight remove and sand sides down a little
key points to check
- power or control fuse blown
- motor brushes
- contactor (if contactor controlled)
- power and control wiring to motor
worse case scenario would be the controller that signals the circuit may be defective
the system does a self check during startup, if it sees any problem it shuts the system down.
Code 222 is for Pump M2 motor open circuit,if you have an email to post in your profile might help if someone needs to send you any info that they may have.
