Discussion:
error codes 23, 34.

On Hourmeter display. My electric Rider jack has Codes 23, and 34. At first 23 popped up and the machine was hard to move., bearly moved at all. Now I get no movement and code 34 is on all the time. I looked on the Curtis controller for codes and I came up with a codes 3,4 possible brake electric magnetic coil shorted. Does this mean that my brake is not always disengaging? I need to know what these codes mean to continue my diag. PLease help.
Thank you

What is your model and serial number. We were discussing Yale MPE60's

If that's what you have, a code 31 means that the controller cannot communicate with the control handle logic card. Check all connections and pins at J2 on the controller and at the control handle logic card. Also check the condition of the wires through the handle. Make sure no wire is pinched or damaged. good luck with it

code 11 should only happen when the handset is plugged in and in diagnostic mode, but it indicates:
Incorrect traction motor wiring,
or motor shorted to frame,
or controller shorted to B- (Check by disconnecting motor cables at controller and check resistance from controller motor terminals to B- It should be 1 megohm or more)

code 32 is:
Main tips are welded or the main contactor driver is shorted.

code 34 is what I posted above.

Seeing as you replaced the contactor, are you sure it was an exact replacement?

OK. Yale Model MPE060 Serial # B896N05297B Rider Jack. I replaced the contactor recently. Worked for a few days and now has codes 11, 32 and 34.

A serial number would help.

My book lists code 23 with slow operation = high speed switch closed at start-up

code 34 = main contactor not pulling in. check fuse 2, wiring, key switch, contactor coil (about 14 ohms)

actually the number you posted for the controller is a part number not a series number
being a PMC controller that narrows it down slightly but there should be a series number on it as well like a 1266 or 1243 and if it says SEPEX on it or not?
can you look again and see whats on the sticker on it
describe its dimensions or what it looks like?

you can try turning on the key , watching the display and see if it shows you any info during startup. It may flash the series of the controller across the display during startup before the hour meter display comes up.

Code 23 could be battery discharged and therefore controler has reduced performance, other possibilities could be incorrect battery parameters
Battery resistance to high
Battery disconnected during operation
Fuse on positive feed to key switch blown
Main contractor did not close
Excessive loss of capacitor charge.

I think code 34 may be a hoist code and the hoist is not working witch would make sence if there was a problem with the battery (lift lockout)
This is just a guess as I have not ever seen this model and I hope my input dose not confuse your problem to much.

OK. Yea. thats the same thing I got from the controller. But this displays codes 23, AND 34 on the actual Hour meter of the unit. That should be separate codes from the controller, right?? After every couple hrs Im able to slowly get the throttle to respond and coast at a snail rate, then it cuts out and throws code 34 on Hour Display.
heres the Controller info. 8526646 p/n pn controller. Curtis PMC
