Edward T is right on the money with his thoughts on tune up. I have had this Position sensor error on many occasions on numerous trucks. This is often caused by a bad coil on one of the plugs or even a misfiring plug. Anything that can change the speed of the crankshaft sensor relative to what the computer is looking to see. If you do end up changing the crankshaft position sensor, i recommend changing the camshaft position sensor as well.

yep that's a high possibility RCAV8TOR, i made it a point to keep a kit in my toolbox because i've had too many pull the threads when removing the spark plugs to not have one handy. All it takes is one to ruin ones day ;o)
If it one of the early model P6000 i bet with 7000hrs he is going to be or is already familiar with 14mm heli coils by now.
worn out spark plugs is usually the culprit in this case from what i've seen. I would only replace the coil packs if they check bad.
what happens when this code is set is the ecm is taking readings from the crank sensor and cam sensor and trying to compensate the dwell because of the widened gap in the plugs. If they get worn too badly it over compensates "out of range" from what the ecm expects to see as an acceptable range and sets the code.
try replacing the spark plugs first, then if you continue to have issues troubleshoot the coil packs and replace any that check bad.
if it was me, I would spring for the entire set of coil packs and spark-plugs, and figure that every 7000 hours or so you would do that instead of a few 2000 hour tune ups.
Dear Edwards, thanxs for your time.
7,775 Hours, a litle old, but its work for me. I will do what you recommended.
first question, how many hours on this motor?
this -code- refers to the crankshaft position sensor, and can be caused by a bad sensor or wire to the sensor, but experience has shown that it is more often caused by what in 'old school' would be called a 'bad tune up', or the need of a tune up. (stray spark not going to the spark plug looking for 'other/easiest path to ground' finds a path through the wire harness, sets the code).
If you have not done a full tune up on this truck, even though it feels like it is running OK, and you have over 3000 hours, do the tuneup first, and please use the correct OEM plugs, not some auto parts 'will fit' plugs, as the 'will fits' cause problems for the next person to remove without damaging the head.
