Most likely you have the wrong cankey. I have two a black one and a grey one. Never can remember which connects to different models so I always carry both.

I am not getting a flash on parameter 38 when button 1 is pressed, meaning i am not able to calibrate. Any ideas why?

Connect can key.
Press switch 1 on dash as your turn on ignition switch. Goto to parameter 38 by pressing switch II on dash. Press I switch, display will flash. Change value to 1 using switches II and III. Press the I switch to set the value and stop display flashing. Turn ignition o and off once. Brake, accelerator pots now calibrated.
To calibrate reach function, retract reach until carriage is fully retracted against inner stops, then reach out to outer stops. The reach is now calibrated.

If fault persists then replace the A5 card

Probably brake pedal pot needs to be recalibrated. You'll need the can key to calibrate.
Other possible problem is a faulty controller but most likely it's just a calibration issue.
