Discussion:
Engine replacement or rebuild ?

Hi ,
first remark : my Komatsu is NOT the FD25 - 17 forklift , but since mine isn't provided in the summary , I took the one that has one "1" more , the 17 , while mine is the much older FD25 - 7 ! So I hope to find an older mechanic , who knows this "oldie" enough to get me on the right track again ! Maybe your father / grandfather was a forklift mechanic , and you own the technical repair manual ? That would be a dream coming true :-)

Yesterday the engine blew up... I heard a loud noise , something inside broke and the engine stalled. The damage is too serious to repair , so I'm hoping to find a used engine or at least some tips , maybe a car engine that can serve the purpose if we change the things that are different ?

The engine is an Isuzu , maybe the ones in the Opel/Vauxhall Astra 1,7d ? If we can use the base , and replace diesel injection pump and the other specific forklift devices ? I think only crank , pistons and everything in their neighbourhood are trashed , the other parts on the engine are still ok !

I would be very grateful for every bit of information , at this moment I don't even have the technical specifications of the engine , I only know it's an Isuzu because it's readable on the valve cover :-)

I can't find anything about it... Help me.... please !!!

According to studies published in the English Journal of Medicine, the impact of daylight savings is revealed by a 24% increase in heart attacks on the Monday following the spring shift forward. When clocks move back in autumn, heart attacks drop by about 21%, suggesting that loss of sleep is an important driver.
