Engine Not Shutting Down after turning the key off.

I have a problem with our forklift, the engine will not shut off after turning the key off. What seems to be the problem?

If I remove the ground connection (Black Wire) from the battery the console will turn off but if I put it back again, the console with light.

Has anyone encounter this problem?

Most likely a faulty alternator. Disconnect the plug on back of the alternator and try to turn off with key.
