Engine dies when reffing Up

Hi there I have a cat p 5000 forklift which is hard to start... only by removing the air cleaner hose can I get it to run although can't ref the unit up without having it die on me.. I've changed the vaporizer changed the fuel injector.. getting air cleaner sensor code but why should that cause issues if I must remove hose to start.?? Any ideas ??
