Discussion:
Diy lithium battery for linde

Need help for diy lithium battery integration. We have rx-60 forklift, battery was leaking acid 80v 560ah and we have changed to diy battery from lg chem cells used in kona electric 4.2v max min 2.8v.

Now battery specs 22s3p 180ah max 92.4v min 66v. But we have an issue : our battery showing 40% left 78v on bms but the forklift screen showing 0%
amd forklift moves/ works like with empty battery.

Main question would be, what to change in forklift setting to let it work in lower voltage?

Ps forklift worked 3 moto h before that, everything is working properly. Any advice would help

Machines usually read voltage at startup, but starup will put a serious load on battery - all the capacitors.start to load, drive and hydraulic motors and magnetic brakes receive a load. If I were you I'd monitor battery voltage drops at startup. It's possible battery is not up to spec for configured battery in Linde's software. If battery test well under load, I would configure machine to lower battery spec(from 560aH to 400 aH or whatever is minimum on software, however I'm not sure about Linde's configuration possibilites. Usually battery level is measured by output voltage, that has wear trims for charged battery and empty battery. 92 might be in overcharge category when the machine is configured for acid wet cell battery - 80 cell charge should be somewhere around 85.2V, or 2.13*40 cells. I'm sure someone with linde knowledge will be more helpful.

Are the battery cells are total new? And did you do any balance about the cells before you assemble the battery pack?
According to my experience, there should be unbalance between the cells inside the pack. If possible, please take a send me the table of voltage of each seires. I will help you to find the series that should be balanced.
