Discussion:
Dead Unit

I have a Crown SC4020-35 with a serial of 9A141447. It has an issue that I have not seen before and was hoping someone could point me in the right direction to solve it.
Customer called and unit was working (hydraulics, steering, travel) however it would only run about 20 feet and would -04 code out. I checked the park brake switch and found it to be operating fine, the wiring looks ok as well. I checked the foot brake switch and found it working fine as well. Long story short, I removed the foot brake switch and replaced it with new because it did have a crack in the plastic. When I went to try the unit again the BDI on the dash showed -99 then 0000. These two numbers are all that shows on the BDI now. They just flash between the two codes. Needless to say the line contactor will not pull in so I have a dead unit now. Checked fuses and all are good. Went into the master controller and found it had a history of -65 codes. These codes have been recorded for the several hundred hours of operation in the master controller. I checked the wiring and did an Ohms test on the coil for the steering and for the line contactor as the book directs. Both fall within specs. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

Just to follow up....I found the distribution board was green tracking under the plugs. I replaced the board and the problems are gone!
Hopefully this helps someone else one day!

Yes. I checked and double checked connections. I did find a problem with the distribution board and have ordered a new one. I will update this post once I know the outcome of this replacement. Thank you for your response.

Have you verified that the connectors were connected to the correct terminals of the new switch?
