Cat Lift Trucks (& Caterpillar) WP4500:
cuts out/Code 0305

Machine will start up, lifts and lowers, will start to travel then all of a sudden cuts out. Reset the handle and it will do the same thing over again. Have code of 0305? Any help would be much appreciated!

Did you ever figure out what the problem was I'm having the same problem with mine. It will lift and lower but I get the E0305 as soon as I try to move it

machine is setting same code except it will now do it when you try both function (lift and travel)
Still a code E0305???
Any ideas?

check the switch at the base of the control handle arm at the motor compartment, it may be faulty
code 05 is brake unit issue
also check wiring to brake unit

"Thanks mwjago... crank and cam sensor can both be changed out at the LH rear tire under neath... Again, make sure the wiring is good... I also had a unit with a broken intake manifold so check that too."
