Discussion:
Crown...new venture

I heard that Crown is seriously considering buying Linde. Has anyone heard anything about this?

Crown builds an IC version in europe, it may only be a color change but it's still IC

I'm not quite sure Crown would have enough money to buy MCFA either. Cat Inc. and especially Mitsubishi Heavy Industries would want to much money plus I don't think MHI would ever sell out; they are very proud of their Mit brand.

I'm also not sure Crown would know what to do with IC trucks!

Crown has some deep pockets but there pockets do not go deep enough to buy Linde. They would be better off buying Nissan or MCFA to fill there line

Dear etharp
Crown Pacific/Asia extends its product range with Daewoo (now Doosan) IC models with Crown badge. Crown may be so humble not to spread this supplementary arrangement in US market.

Current Linde MH management group (not top management nor shareholders) definitely prefer IPO (see Newsletter #259), as they can secure their position in the new setup.

The Dickes, I believe, do not want their company to go public.

Will see........

As far as I Know Linde are keeping hold of the mechanical handling and also supply units and motors/controllers to other forklift manufactures. So i think its unlikely.
