Discussion:
crank no start

this customer had a crank no start condition. first checks spark has good spark.
spray brake clean in the throttle body and engine runs.
being new to LP i was cautious and inspected the fuel system. the regulator has two electronic solenoids. the large solenoid has no power. found the relay for the solenoid was damaged (diode was cracked) jumped the relay to check operation and i can smell gas but still no start. if i manually pulse the power while cranking i can get the engine to run. i do have to pulse for a short time after the engine runs and then i can hold down power and the engine runs well. the service information i am able to find is not very good. i do know the fuel solenoid relay gets its ground from the engine control module but cannot find if its duty cycle (pwm) controlled or not. there was a lot of wiring problems with this unit Aswell at the ecm and the throttle body. so im not sure if there is another problem or if i need a new ecm. shoppas quoted over $6k for a ecm.
so i want to be certain this is the only part i need.

From what you described it sounds like a broken wire. Most likely from the tach signal at the distributer. That signal starts the fuel system. It seems to break on all of them at some point. Broken wires is very common.

Be nice to forky
What motor? the 4Y engine? Straight propane?
Sounds like a ground issue with the fuel solenoid. Check wiring to the distributor. Remove all fuses and make sure they are good. Main solenoid and slow path is run off of controlled circuit through exam and relays. May have usual broken wiring around valve cover towards fan. Grounds to frame by #3&4 cylinders. Make sure to pull back the wire loom.
