So now that we have the counterweight off we found an eccentric bushing (round bushing with offset hole in it) in the front of the bolt hole in the counterweight. Is it there due to manufacturing differences between the counterweight and the truck frame?
Thanks for the help! We were able to get the counterweight off today. What was holding us up was that when the bolt broke about 1/2" of it was still protruding into the counterweights hole. We drilled into what was still protruding with progressively bigger drill bits until it weakened enough to let the counterweight come loose. I was worried we were missing a fasteners somewhere. Reading your explanation helped us figure out how it was attached. Thanks again!
There are V shaped saddles on the top that the weight fits into so just lift the weight about 2-3" and then it will come off.
