code 61

6BRU18 unit will give a fault code 61 every couple weeks. Checked all steering system. Wiring ohms fine to each componet.
Any other suggestions? Thanks

Have you pulled the right side cover while the code is present? The steer controller is behind it and the leds can point you in a direction. You may also want to check the coupling between the steer wheel and the steer tach. If that is ok check the steer tach itself.
