Code 215 on Crown SP3020-30

When the unit came into the shop for a lower unit/motor replacement it drove but the brakes would lock and had to be readjusted. (Unit would start up normally and would operate) I believe that the problem is due to a faulty lower drive unit. Anyway I used a drive and motor from a unit that the customer is using for parts. After installing the drive/motor I readjusted the Encoder 2 to index. But when I power up and the unit goes thru test it throws a wrench and code 215 (NO LEFT TURN) I checked everything that I can think of. ie. K5, swapped out steer control mod, encoder 2. The drive will move about 10 degrees to right when the key is turned on and time out is reached. Normally the drive will move right to left before settling to index point. With encoder unplugged the motor moves right/left as normal but then throws code 208. Nothing changed from one drive to another but now I do not know what to do at this point. No but I did reverse the leads. I actually found out today from a friend. This unit MUST be on the ground and have weight on the front wheel. It needs the resistance during startup test. As soon as i put the drive wheel on and put it on the ground all faults went away. This will never happen to me again. I wasted 2 days trying to figure what was going on and to find out it was becasue of something so simple. But thanks for the reply. Bunky

What about the Steer motor itself. Did you try swapping it as well?
