Discussion:
Clark Forklift Y112 Propane powered Continental Motor

I acquired a log splitter of all things that has a Y112, propane powered Continental motor from a Clark Fork Lift. I do not know the model of the forklift that the motor came out of, but I think that it may be a C500-F235 from what I can find on the internet. the numbers on the side of the engine block are C8X, C8TG-Y112A508. Is there a way to find out which propane carburetor went with the motor or what gas carburetor I can use on it. I also believe that it originally had a Zenith updraft LPG carburetor. I found a listing of about four carburetors that it could possibly be on the internet but of course I can't cross reference any of them to the motor.

Thanks,
Splitter

We have books for all Clark C500 forklifts, I can probably get the parts numbers you need. I'll look today.

Thanks for the information. I'm getting closer. I actually don't have the carb for the motor so I'll have to go to those Clark models to see if I can narrow down the model, year and carb used. If I contact Clark do you think that they could tell me with the serial number that I have for the motor?

That motor was used in a lot of makes of forklifts. Clark models were C25B, C500-25 and 30 235. Repair parts for your Zenith LPG carb are available. They also came with a Impco carb # CA-55. The Zenith gasoline carb would be a 14544 and is also available.
