CLARK CGC 25 BRAKE PROBLEM

I could use some help from the CLARK guys. It's a "Genesis" series CGC-25 C365L-0108- 9524 Came out in '97
If I am not mistaken, Drliftruck has this one on the "Piece of crap" list
Brake system uses return oil from steering valve to charge brake actuator.
The hose from steer valve "tees" off with a hose running to actuator then returns back to hydraulic tank throgh a check valve.
When you start the truck, the brakes apply just enough to drag the shoes, but not keep the truck from moving. The brakes are real touchy and grab with very little foot pressure.
I have checked the rod from pedal linkage to the actuator to make sure pedal is coming all the way up and letting valve go all way to rest position.
Checked the valve in return line for restiction, oil flows out when running.
Is there a possibility that steer valve is dumping to much return oil or is the pressure to high? Have not fround any adjustment and have no literature on this machine.
It has the 2 hose style actuator, the older trucks have 5 hoses. HELP!!!! Any assistance would be greatfully appreciated.

Hello roadrat

Your problem is the check valve take it out end problem is gone.
There are many problems with it
Normally there staying 0.3 Bar on systeem buth when you start its gone and the brakes release and you drive normal.
But when the valve not good work he has 0.3 and the brake wil stay on and your pedal is hard.
Thake the valve out and you will feel the difference.

Regards.

John.

Reply to proshadetree: The brake shoes, cylinders and hardware are Wagner like the V model Cats, but it does'nt use a regular "Brake fluid" master cylinder. It uses return hydraulic oil off steer valve to supply an actuator valve that has lines running down to wheel cylinders.
