Clark C-20:
Carbon Monoxide

Well I have run into a bit of a problem with my clark forklift. After a few months of getting headaches I went out a purchased a Carbon Monoxide detector. Now I found the cause of my headaches. I am getting readings of 100 - 150 parts per million. I have recently had the forklift tuned up. New rad, rebuilt starter, plugs points, thermostat...etc. I was experiencing a problem with water build up in the oil pan due to forklift not reaching proper operating temp. Is there some other place I should be looking for the cause of the carbon monoxide? Could it be the carb or propane converter...?

ok first thing
are you sure the tester is reading parts per million because 100 to 150 parts per million when calculated into percentage is EXTREMELY LOW for co readings
be sure it's not a percentage reading you have
if it's a propane engine then you dont want to see more than 1% at the tail pipe
thats one percent not 0.1%
usualy hydrcarbons are read in parts per million, be sure its a co tester
tell me these things first then we can tackle any emission problems you have
