Yale GDP35VX:
Cant access service mode to reset fault 676-4

We have a forklift and it has a fault code 676-4. Glow plugs the spanner symbol is illuminated and a warning sounder is beeping I've swapped the glow plug power relay. And found there is no power from the control at the power relay. the glow plug light is flashing.. obviously it does not start. Also it seems someone has changed the service code as now in countdown and only have 4 choices left. Is there is a controller relay under the dashboard and will the code be deleted automatically if i cure the fault.if someone could help it would be greatly appreciated.
Regards
Jim.

Jim,

You say only 8.75 volts at the red wire. Did you try a different ground? A dirty or lose ground can cause this issue. Once you get this problem fixed, the lift should start and run without any issues. The code will no longer show on the dash, but it will be stored in the VSM. The technician service code is always five numbers. Also, need to check CPS55, the red wire goes from the VSM through this connector. Good Luck.

The hard to do we do right away. The impossible just takes a little longer.
Thanks Fishmech.
I can confirm all the wiring is good but I only have 8.47 volts coming out of the red wire. Relay checks out ok. I can't clear the fault as I don't have the engineers code. 5555 doesn't let me in..is there a time control relay. Or is this part of the main control unit.

Jim
Jim,

Behind the kick panel on the right side, the VSM is mounted to the front panel. The kick panel is held in with metal clips. Pry the lower part off the upper to remove. Go to VSM, the eighth connector down on the right side. That is where power is supplied to the relay. Pin nine or wire 754A red. Check connection at VSM and make sure pin or socket is seated in the connector. If all checks good, verify ohms reading from the pin to the relay. Good Luck
