Discussion:
Break pot module

We have a Crown SC 4000 S/N 9A121661 that is cutting off after three seconds we have checked the parking break switch and it was cracked so it was replaced but we are sill going to code 4 after start of travel in any direction. Manual is showing a break pot module but we have been unable to locate it. Any help would be great. Thanks

It has and the truck is long gone. I try to post a solution to the issues that I have but sometimes I lose track of the thread. Problem was a bad spot in the wire coming off the break switch. It had contenuity but when I checked the resistance it was high sowe started inspecting the wire and found a pinched spot. Repaired and all good.
Thanks to all that posted!!!!

The " brake pot module" discussed here is actually a regen module but a valid part of this discussion. You will need the EV 100 handset to see if function 22 ( Brake resistor module) is set to 47. There are 3 operational procedures that must be done to complete the cal.If you don't have the manual, let us know. Just remember to verify the basics before diving in, the brake and accel control switch adjustments are most common.

Check switch on the park brake under dash, pretty sure that also gives an -04 code as well.

Brake pot module, is a small black square resistor, on right hand side of brake arm, secured to the panel, it requires replacement, and or calibration with a ev100 controller.

And code 04 means the truck thinks the brake is still applied while requesting travel for 5 seconds......re adjust the park and foot brake switches

There is a brake module in this unit. It is located on the right of the pedal mount. It is a non serviceable unit. With your manual, test the brake at the distribution panel.

Sounds like your using a 4500 manual. There is no brake pot in an SC4000. What fault 4 is referring to is the brake switch circuit. It thinks your holding the brake switch for more than 5 seconds while requesting travel. Check that the brake switch and accelerator switch ( the switch in the accel pot box) are adjusted correctly.
