Discussion:
Brakes/Hydraulics

I m working on a cgp30 serial#P365 L-1009-9397 and the brakes stay energized when the truck is running. It will maintain a line pressure of 70 psi on the slave cylinders, causing the brakes to drag. I have checked the wheel cylinders, shoes, drums and thats all ok. shoes adjusted to.030. With the truck off of the ground when you shut the engine off the drive wheels go free. Also we can t build more than 150 psi when trying to brake. The spec. is 1300psi. With a gauge dead headed on the slave port the pedal will float all the way to the floor. I have all the air bleed from the system. Another thing is that when steering the slave line pressure will go up to 100-125psi. Have also tried two new part# 2816968 brake valves. Plus the original all 3 do the same thing. Any help is greatly appreciated ! Ben

rebuild your master cylinder, it's setup like hydroboost systems. If it slowly drifts the the bottom with steady pressure, that is your problem.

I guess I solved the dragging problem, one shoe was to tight. But still can t build and maintain the proper psi.Pedal will drift to the bottom and then the brakes will release. Again thanks for any replies. Ben
