Discussion:
Bogging down slowly under load

I've got a truck that puzzels me. At least once every ignition cycle it will bogg down under any load ie; raising the mast, forward travel, sometimes revving it with park brake engaged. At the same time it'll smoke black out of the stack heavily. If I hold it there it'll smother out and die. If I let off (let it idle half a second) It'll run just like it's suppose to. Usually the rest of that Ig cycle. Thing is when I unplug the vacuum from the EGR it runs great, never misses a beat.
Things that have been done,
2000 hr PM(t-belt, all filters, etc.)
New EGR valve
Turbo(Preventitive due to unnecessary impeller slack, Intake hose off long period)
Updated turbo intake hose.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Make sure the vacuum line is plugged in to the diaghram on top of the ECR and NOT on to the vacuum pot on the side of the EGR valve. If it is plugged in there it will close the flapper plate and choke off the engine. Also check the beginning of injection (will need laptop with Pathfinder) as if way too low engine will run retarded and bog down. Check vacuum to turbocharger with vacuum gun. Unplug vacuum line AT turbo and plug on to vacuum gun, start engine, MUST HAVE 18 to 20 inches of vacuum as soon as engine starts, if not check all vacuum hoses for leaks. IF SO, plug line and hook gun to turbo, apply 20 inches vacuum to turbo and test run by extending upright all the way up until it bottoms out - a good turbo and engine will maintain 2000 millibar of boost and 2800 rpm if everything in pathfinder is set at 100% - Hope this gets you in the right direction. Always check the turbo output as even a new one may not be performing correctly by nt letting the wastegate function correctly which is why you need to check the vacuum and manually apply vacuum to the wastgate control

Fact of the week
The use of "hello" as a telephone greeting is attributed to Thomas Edison. He is said to have suggested it as a simpler alternative to other greetings, such as "Do I get you?" or "Are you there?".
