I have a Curtis 933/3D36 battery controller.
I was working on the lift and removed the panel and after replacing it the battery indicator quit working. I removed the panel and found that there are three contacts on the back of the indicator labelled 4, 5, and 6 which correspond with contacts 4, 5, and 6 on the 933. The wire going to the number 6 contact on the indicator came off so I crimped it and reattached it. The battery indicator still shows dead although the battery is working fine. The battery indicator was working fine before I removed the panel. The lift is NOT in lockout mode. The battery is at 36.5V.
I figure either the controller got fried or the indicator got fried from the wire coming off and perhaps grounding or something or the controller is in some sort of screwed up mode and needs to be reset although I doubt this since the lockout mode is not activated.
I need to diagnose whether the controller or indicator is bad or if it's in some state.
Is there a way to test the indicator to see if it's working with a voltage on the contacts or something? There are three contacts so I assume one is a ground and one is for a voltage to drive the analog needle and one is for a voltage to cause the LED light to blink as I've seen in the past when the voltage is extremely low.
I checked the corresponding pins coming out of the 933 and two show no voltage. I assume one is a ground and the other is for the blinking LED which of course would not have any signal since it's not dead. The third showed like 5-6 volts. Any assistance would be helpful. I can't find any troubleshooting for the indicator itself.
