Discussion:
Baker forklift

Bought a old Baker forklift over the weekend I need some information on. It has a 4 cyl engine and I believe it was originally gasoline but converted to lp. It has a gas gauge on the instrument panel which leads me to believe it was gasoline. It starts, runs, lifts and tilts. The tag to the right of the seat says what looks like FGD 0255 and the serial number says 48593. After reading a previous post I also located some numbers on the left front floorboard 1803-92 and serial number again 48593. Wondering what I have got. Would like to find a manual for it. Thanks

Showing items 1 - 5 of 5 results.
I will measure the tire size but from looking at the truck and the size of the forks I would agree with you on the 2500 lb. rating. The carriage is 16". I can't figure out how to upload photos or I would post a photo of the data plate. Still looking for id on the engine. No data plate found there.

To my knowledge there was no such model. What are the tire sizes?
If it has a Hercules engine then most of the parts are no longer available. If it has a Continental engine then most of the wear items should be available.

duodeluxe it is clearly 255 on the model #. Wonder what the extra 5 could mean.

duodeluxe thanks for the info. Where would I find a manual? Also I can find no id tag on the engine. Continental or Hercules? Is there a source to determine info from the serial # or build #
Thanks

The correct model number should be FGD025. If so, it has a basic capacity of 2500#, standard transmission and originally was gas. It is probably a mid 1960's model.
