Your best bet is to take your radiator to a radiator shop and have them re core yours it is cheaper and faster to get it done that way good luck
I suggest you make contact with the Allis-Chalmers Product Liability Trust. They may still be in operation. There may be ongoing Asbestos Class Action suits that you may choose to join. Alternatively, they may be able to direct you to needed info as part of the Discovery process.
Good Luck,
Myron Boyajian, P.E.
I represent a career lift truck mechanic recently diagnosed with mesothelioma. He serviced a wide range of trucks including Allis Chalmers, Crown, Clark and others. I am trying to determine suppliers of friction lining material to these OEMs. Any advice on locating this info? Interested in Akebono, Abex, Raybestos, Bendix, Rockwell and any others. Thanks in advance!
Call Absolute Lift Parts or Atlanta Lift Parts. They are both located in the Atlanta area. They sell only used parts. I suspect that one of them can help you out.
@sandy d Understand your situation. But here is why it is hard to find info on a 30+ year old truck that has 1" thick side plates. see Allis-Chalmers Material Handling Division went out of business in 1984/85. That model was first introduced in the 1972 so it could be 40+ years old - I was the Product Manager behind the development & introduction of the the ACC30 model. It was not as popular asthe ACC35/ 40/45/50/55 -which was a much different design.
Back on track, AC corporate sold the manufacturing rights & service parts to a group in Columbus, Ohio that operated under the name of ACMH for a few years. ACMH got in trouble and was bought out by Kalmar of Sweden. They eventual stopped production of the Allis-Chalmers models and then bought trucks from Komatsu under a private label agreement the products were sold under the Kalmar AC brand for several years. In the late 1990s Komatsu bought out Kalmar AC and moved all marketing and product support to Covington, GA. Then in the early 2000s the Kalmar AC brand was dropped by and the trucks were marketed under the Tusk brand. Around 2004/5. Komatsu dismantled the Covington, GA operation discontinued the Tusk brand, moved production to S.Carolina, parts support to Tennessee and marketing to Chicago area. and let many of the product support folks go that had knowledge of the A-C, ACMH brand lift trucks.
Scott Eller and some of his staff in Chicago lived through all this and are good source of info for older AC lifts. But Scott is like me - he is getting older and will someday hang up his lift truck spurs and it will be come a bit harder to find a good source of info on those old AC This 1944 model retired in 2007. But do remember when Scott joined AC back in the early 70's - he was younger than me but good people for sure.
Just food for thought you may want to think about buying a newer used lift from a known lift truck company & brand. Your life will be easier and that truck has little value and
@johnr j I did google it and I also went to that site and it does not reflect ACC 30. I called Kumata and spoke with your guy who is supposed to get back with me today as he said he can help us with the part.
I know nothing more about this machine and I did call some locals in Florida and they are unable to access anything regarding this machine since it is a 30. I see on that site the 40 and later models but again not the 30.
One of the locals say that we may have to rebuild the radiator since they are unaware of the parts.
Without a part number or some reference to go by its hard to search a part. Google is the best for searching and yes it is fantastic that we don't have to go to the library anymore, although sometimes its nice for the peace and quiet.

Here are some other places you can try. Replace the (dot) with a.
fork-lift-parts(dot)com/allis-chalmers-forklift-parts/
liftpartswarehouse(dot)com/category-s/125.htm
store(dot).hgmforkliftparts (dot)com/allis-chalmers_forklift_parts/model_category_index.aspx
Do a goggle search using these words - "parts for an older allis chalmers forklift" and you can find more
Goggle Is A Friend of Mine - I ain't that smart but I do know how to find stuff w/o having to go to the library like I did when I was a puppy. I worked for A-C at the Harvey/Matteson facilities from 1967 thru end of 1981 in Sales & Marketing
Life is Good or Pura Vida if you are in Costa Rica
Will do. Thanks so much.
Happy Thanksgiving!
@sandy d
Call Scott Eller at Komatsu Forklift in Chicago area (Bedford Park I think). Tell him I referred you to him - John Johnson. He is the General Manager (aka chief cook and bottle washer) but worked for the Allis Chalmers Factory store - started in parts and service. He would know. Parts sources for the old A-C are hard to find - A-C went out of business in 1984 I believe. Then were sold a company called ACMH in Ohio and the bought out by Kalmar and marketed trucks under the Kalmar AC name (basically a Komatsu with a different paint job). I worked for A-C from 67 to 82. Last I heard that A-C parts were stored in some caves around Kansas City.
Good Luck
