7777 is right,
not worth the trouble that would possibly happen after the cross-match. These components are designed to work together and cross-matching non-oem parts doesnt seem to work well from my experience.
If your going to do anything i'd do a full system conversion and get away from the algas system all together. i'll assume your having trouble finding oem repair parts for that? They were good back in the day but todays LP components are lots better imo.

Even if it works, I wouldn't do it. I remember when a certain company about 30 years ago, put a G55 Centry converter w/ a Impco mixer. It worked well, but a bug crwaled up the customers @ss and it ended up costing the company $10K.

Fact of the week
The origin of "love" as the score zero in tennis is debated, but two main theories prevail. One suggests it's derived from the French word "l'oeuf" (egg) which resembles the shape of the number zero. The other proposes it's related to the Dutch word "lof" meaning "honour" as players might be playing for honour when scoreless.
