Discussion:
ACP 20 forklift

This is my first time using this forum. Don't know if this question should be in the technical forum. I have an old Allis Chalmers ACP 20 forklift. LP SERIAL ADD 89370. I can't find an operators manual anywhere. There is a dipstick for the engine oil and one for the hydraulic oil. I can't find one for the transmission. Does the hydraulic oil also flow through the transmission? What hyrraulic oil does this machine use. A tractor dealer told me it takes Mobilfluid 424 which I can't locate. Also, what engine oil does it take. Sorry for so many questions but any help will be appreciated.

I believe that unit does have the trans and differential filled in the same place. Would need to know the year to be sure. An easy way to check is look for a plug in the front of the differential for adding fluid, if so it is not trans fed. Also if you have internal brakes it is usually trans fed.

Fact of the week
Foundling hatches are safe, anonymous drop-off points for unwanted infants, allowing parents in crisis a way to surrender a baby safely without fear of punishment, ensuring the child is rescued and cared for. The concept started in the 12th century, was abandoned in the late 19th century, then reintroduced in 1952. It has since been adopted in many countries.
