good deal, yes adding refrigerant to top off the system can get you by for a while i guess. As long as it is working but remember, if it has a leak that will slowly go away and the efficency will fall off again.
if it does you will have to find out where the leak is by doing the evacuation and vacuum the system to verify if a leak is there.
If you can get hold of a good gas sniffer you can use that to detect where the leak is while the system is charged up, if a leak is there the sniffer will find it.

powershop1804,
if it is cooling but just not enough it could be it has a leak and some of the refrigerant has just leaked out and it's lost it's ability to cool.
Normally in a case like this the system would be evacuated and refilled to insure you get the correct amount in it, over filling the system can cause problems that may damage the compressor.
So i would evacuate it, pull a vacuum and see if it has any leaks.
Then recharge it to the correct amount suggested by the manual you have for the truck based on its serial number.
That information i gave in the previous post was for the first serial number shown in the list from hypass, it may not be correct for your unit.

what is the serial number from your lift? i can check that and verify what it says for refrigerant capacity.

there should be a tag somewhere on the system telling you how many ounces it takes. check on the compressor.
i did check one manual and it calls for 1300 grams (45.8oz) of r134a.
it all depends on the system and serial number and year of the truck.
