I hope these stay posted. Techs need all the help they can get on Raymond's These are my personal notes
8400 trouble codes
BB is belly button switch
common issues: E150, measure
30" from plug of can bus wire, motor end to controller. Break in wires over brake drum. Fix them, then move harness towards firewal so it bends in a new section. there is enough play at motor end to do this. Code; E150
E107 is contactor code. If dirty, truck codes out. Can replace tips
before doing this, check main fuse. This also sets code by drivers pushing skids on ground
C71: motor encoder fault is always break in wires over motor
dont change encoder without testing wires. pull on then, they feel like rubber bands.
E221: battery low. this truck tests battery on start up. it's very sensitive to how battery reacts and shuts down truck. You need a voltmeter with record Min/Max to test battery. While recording, turn on truck During it's self test the truck commands the motor while brake is on. For a millionth of a sec the bad battery goes to 17 volts, then the truck shuts down. I f you test battery with e cheap meter, it will pass and load test ok, fooling you
C57; check brake adjustment, control handle bushings for wear.
Last, these 8400's wont lift when battery is dead, like other trucks, but still wont lift with changed and charged battery if it does not have 25.3 volts. A freshly charged battery will be over this, but many older batteries drop to 25 or less just sitting. So dont waste time troubleshooting truck not showing charged battery when it's a battery issue. If you need to, fool the truck by quickly plugging in a fresh charged battery or put bat on a 5 min charge, then plug in
Bra sw- T/A wire JP2-1 : JP1-1
JP2-2: JP1-17. JP2-3: JP1-17
